Handshake is a global B2B eCommerce platform that allows retailers to place orders from manufacturers on any device, anywhere, anytime. I set the vision for product UX across the Handshake software suite, addressing the challenges of wholesale buying in a complex product ecosystem. The UI was built to be consistent and manageable with a modular approach, supported by a robust design system. Acquired by Shopify in 2019.

As Director of Product Design I helped drive revolutionary change across the software suite, designing ‘mobile first’ experiences that took on the complexities of B2B eCommerce: multiple shopping carts, catalog creation, online store customization, etc. My approach was human-centered; I crafted intuitive, omnichannel experiences for the end user. Partnered with Product and Engineering to improve internal collaboration, shape strategy and study the businesses we were serving. Handshake was acquired by Shopify in 2019.
Small but agile, the design team was able not only to address key interaction deficiencies within legacy products; they identified market opportunities and developed products that brought significant value to our clients, our customers and the company.
